Any Existentialists surfing around? Give us your take on the philosophy.

Sartre was the only self-declared existentialist among the major thinkers. For him the central idea of all existential thought is that existence precedes essence. For Sartre there is no God and therefore no fixed human nature that forces one to act. Man is totally free and entirely responsible for what he makes of himself. It is this freedom and responsibility that is the source of man's dread.

No existentialist, but I don't oppose the idea much either.

many people lead an existentialist life without consciously thinking about it though.

up to now alot of people question the existence of God. the real question is.. have we questioned our own being?

It is said that God is everything. Isn't this a contradiction in terms because everything cannot be everything if it is named. There it is nothing because surely nothing is part of everything. You can't get away from everything to observe it, therefore it is not an entity - it is non-existent yet exists. So if God is existent, being omni...present/potent/everything he/she/it is non-existent too..
